Developer Singularity 6 announces further layoffs.
Square Enix recently announced that it would have to lay off numerous employees, followed this week by Dauntless developer Phoenix Labs.
Now Singularity 6, the developer behind Palia, is also said to be affected by another wave of layoffs. The studio only cut 49 jobs in April of this year.
The American studio has now officially announced that it will have to lay off 36 more employees. Accordingly, one is forced to restructure the company in order to be able to face the current difficult economic situation.
They currently want to focus entirely on the MMO Palia and continue to provide the loyal community with content. Those responsible also emphasized that efforts are being made to provide employees with the best possible support.
Palia is a life simulation with an online focus that started an open beta on the PC in August of last year. The MMO has been available via Steam since March, and Nintendo Switch players have been able to access the title since December 2023.
