The planned changes for seasonal characters in The Division 2 have been reversed.
Massive Entertainment recently planned major changes for the looter shooter The Division 2.
Last month, it was announced that players would be reset to the basic level at the start of a new season. The aim of this step was to provide new and old players with content equally. It would therefore no longer be possible to under- or over-level the character.
However, the community did not like the idea at all. The strong reactions from the players have now led to a backtracking. There will therefore be no seasonal characters, according to a statement.
“After careful review and discussions with the team, we have decided to re-evaluate Season 2.0 with particular attention to the seasonal characters, with the goal of moving forward without them,” writes Massive Entertainment.
“This change does not impact the previously announced plans for Year 6, but it does require us to evaluate the necessary changes for the new seasonal experience that will be integrated into Year 6 Season 2 this fall. Once we have the finer details sorted out, we will share more information, a livestream, and a [öffentlichen Testserver] to return.”
