The team behind Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge talk about modernizing the timeless beat ’em up fun in a new behind-the-scenes video.
Publisher Dotemu and development studio Tribute Games, in partnership with Nickelodeon, today shared their vision for bringing the timeless fun factor of beat-’em-ups into the present in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge. The Turtles’ new adventure is coming to PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this summer.
Tribute Games has used all the passion – born of their childhood love of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – to analyze the series’ past beat-’em-ups and ensure that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge stays true to the Turtles’ spirit remain.
Delivering a modernized experience that fans deserve was very important to the team. Tribute Games has achieved this with clever improvements such as unique attributes and moves that emphasize each character’s personality.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge brings together the work of two retro pros. On the one hand, Dotemu, development studio and publisher known for faithful ports, as well as excellent remakes and sequels of popular series, including Streets of Rage 4, the quick-witted hit nominated for Best Action Game at the Game Awards 2020, and the fast-paced Windjammers 2 and the acclaimed Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap.
On the other hand, Tribute Games, the studio behind original IPs with a retro feel, like Panzer Paladin, Flinthook and Mercenary Kings, which combine the spirit of classic games with a new feel. The Tribute Games ranks also include key talent, having contributed to games like the acclaimed Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game, and 2007’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for the Gameboy Advance.
