The latest developer blog post is all about the future of Hunt: Showdown and here’s a recap for you.

The developers of Hunt: Showdown announce that in the future they want to be more transparent with what’s to come this year. Update 1.8 has already been released for PC and from March 24th the Traitor’s Moon event will take place.

I am first quarter With the available update 1.8, the focus will be primarily on improving the performance of the server and the client. So you want to reduce the processing requirements on AI and all interactive objects in the world. Also, an unneeded component that could affect server performance was removed. Work has also been done on how the client interacts with the Steam API. There will be a new tool to make it easier for developers to fix problems and bugs in the future. The missing character and weapon animations in the lobby will also be added.

For quarter 2 It is planned that the current system for daily and weekly rewards will be replaced by a new quest system. In order to provide more variety with the AI, the developers want to introduce two new zombie variations and revise the 3rd person animations when sneaking.

In the middle/end of quarter 2 & beginning of quarter 3 the following changes will continue:

  • New gameplay feature to improve teamplay
  • UI changes for better usability
  • Ping limit when using servers outside of your region
  • Overhaul of the progression system, including the prestige system

All the details are explained again in the video from the developers:
