At least that’s what the study indicates in its last meeting with shareholders, where in a slide they assure that they plan to start the research and development phase in 2024. next year, Project Orion will enter the pre-production phase, so it will take years to see it. Something that corresponds to the plans of CD Projekt Red, since they have always maintained that development work on the sequel would still begin after the release of Phantom Libertythe first and only expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 which will arrive in 2023.
Project Orion promises to push the franchise further and will come under the umbrella of CD Projekt Red North America, a new division of the company resulting from the merger of two other pre-existing teams in Vancouver and a new team in Boston. It will feature over 500 developers looking to hire who will be led by the core Cyberpunk 2077 team.
