The upcoming Capcom role-playing game Dragon’s Dogma 2 does without quest boards or markers for more immersion.
Capcom’s upcoming role-playing highlight Dragon’s Dogma 2 places great emphasis on immersion. For example, players only have a single memory slot, so every decision and its consequences must be carefully considered. A fast travel option is also only available to a limited extent.
It has now been officially confirmed that no quest boards will be included in the game. From a preview of IGN It also appears that Dragon’s Dogma 2 also does without markers over relevant NPCs. Icons that indicate places of interest are kept minimal.
Instead, NPCs will address the player directly with their quests. On top of that, fellow campaigners always help out with tips on special places.
The AI-controlled companions gain experience, skills and equipment and can be hired online by other players. If one of them knows about a quest through their adventures with another player, players can let them guide them there if they wish.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be released on March 22, 2024 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
