Akira Toriyama, creator of Dragon Ball and many other well-known works, died at the age of 68.
Sad news for manga and anime fans. Akira Toriyama has died at the age of 68.
According to Bird Studio’s official website, the legendary manga artist and character designer passed away on March 1st as a result of an acute subdural hematoma.
Toriyama was known for creating or designing characters in manga, anime and video games such as Dragon Ball, Blue Dragon, Sand Land, Dragon Quest and many more.
Excerpt from the official statement: “We deeply regret that he created several more works with great enthusiasm. Besides, he would have had a lot more to achieve.”
“However, he left many manga titles and works of art to this world. Thanks to the support of so many people around the world, he was able to continue his creative activity for over 45 years. We hope that Akira Toriyama’s unique world of creation will be loved by everyone for a long time to come.”
