Certain character combinations also have special dialogue before a battle. You can even recreate iconic story moments by letting specific characters fight and be rewarded with a faithfully reproduced special cutscene!
If you want to get your feet wet before jumping into battle, check out the practice modes, which are accessible from the lobby. There are a variety of tools you can use to learn basic and advanced fighting techniques.
Being an experienced fighter myself, I recommend that you learn how to use and defend against the Super Dash. This technique, which can be used by almost all characters, allows you to track, search and attack your opponent while being invincible against Ki-Blasts (extremely powerful). But there’s a simple answer to defend against this attack: Crouch + Heavy Attack; Also known to the experienced player as 2H. If you time it right, you’ll turn the tables on your opponent.
There is also a story mode with most of the cast. In this mode you will recruit many characters in the game, level up and fight against villains. But for me as a superfan, my favorite part was all the dialogue with the characters. Several characters who never got a chance to meet in the series do in this game, and it takes character enrichment to the next level.
