Dune: Awakening gets retro radio with 90s years-dune soundtracks. The music from the classic dune and dune II games comes to Dune: Awakening.
The players can hear the soundtracks of the video games Dune and Dune II: Battle for Arrakis from 1992 in Dune: Awakening via the internal radio. Dune: Awakening is inspired by Frank Herbert's science fiction novel and the award-winning films by Legendary Entertainment.
The soundtrack for Dune II: Battle for Arrakis was composed by Frank Klepacki. Philippe Ulrich and Stéphane Picq composed the Dune: Spice Opera-Soundtrack, which was newly mastered in 2024. Unfortunately, Stéphane Picq died in February 2025.
“Dune left a legacy in books and films – but also in video games,” says Chief Creative Officer Joel Bylos. “The soundtracks of Dune and Dune II were among the greatest of the 90s and it is a great honor to be able to share them with a new generation of players through the Communinet in Dune: Awakening.”
The central communication network in the game, the so -called communinet, offers three channels from which you can choose, as well as programs on emergencies, sandstorms or the Landsraad.
The players can switch on the official Areides and Harkonnen channels to hear propaganda, arena battle reports and motivational speeches.
If you don't feel like propaganda, but are looking for something special when collecting raw materials or when building bases, Harvester radio can listen to the broadcaster for spice mining workers and simple workers who sends advertising, survival tips, music and entertainment such as episodes of an exclusive radio theater.
