If today we were to recommend a boxing title, one of the first that comes to mind is Fight Night. A decade after its last opus, the green light is given to the continuation of the saga, known internally at Electronic Arts under the name of enclave “Moneyball”, a development which would be only in its beginnings.
As expected, we won’t have any news of its launch for a few years, let alone. after temporarily interrupting its development. The main reason for this decision is UFC 5, a title currently in full production and slated for late 2022. As we’ve learned through VGC, who had access to internal mail from EA Canada, preferred not to split their creative seniors into two fight projects and focus on one.
First UFC 5 then Fight Night
According to the letter sent internally to the workers, they will mainly focus on the development of the new UFC, and once it is in its final stages; development of Fight Night would resume. This means that for at least a year after the launch of the mixed martial arts-based game, the return of the saga will not see the light of day.
We’re very excited about UFC 5 and… we want to do away with the divided approach that various members of our management team have had in the past so that we can just focus on creating a high quality UFC5.
