For productivity and safety reasons, all home office employees were ordered back to the office for Grand Theft Auto VI.
The hybrid working model at Rockstar Games will end in April. As part of work on Grand Theft Auto VI, all employees will be required to return to the office full-time and will no longer be allowed to work from home. According to Bloomberg, Rockstar Head of Publishing Jenn Kolbe cited productivity and security as reasons for this decision.
Considering the past leaks, this is certainly not a surprising decision. In September 2022, an hour of material from the development of Grand Theft Auto VI was leaked. In December, the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI was released to the public too early due to a leak.
According to Kolbe, these changes put us in a position to bring the next Grand Theft Auto to market at a level of quality that we know is necessary. This also applies to the roadmap for publication, which must do justice to the scale and ambitions of the game.
