You might have missed it yesterday, but the Twitter Rules have changed. Access to the Social Network API is now subject to a fee. A change that has had significant consequences for businesses and advertisers on the platform. So much so that Microsoft quickly positioned itself by declaring that it was withdrawing Twitter from its advertising platform and services.
One of the consequences of this decision is also on the part of our consoles. In fact, since yesterday it is no longer possible to share your photo and video recordings on the blue social network. It was the players who spotted the change and the official Xbox account came out to confirm the change.
As stated by the brand, the functionality has disappeared both on console and via Xbox Game Bar on PC. The option will remain active through the Xbox mobile application for now. Currently, only Microsoft has positioned itself in this way. With a prohibitive cost starting at $42,000 per month to access the API, it’s more than likely that other gamers like Nintendo and Sony will follow the same path.
