Microsoft has made a name for itself when it comes to improving its classic games and now filed a patent for a system that will make some optimizations in this type of productions when played in the cloud. Details of the improvements have yet to be released, but overall it’s expected that maintaining these titles of yesteryear will be easier and many of these games won’t require remasters

The original Xbox is, oddly enough, the one with the least amount of history to preserve from the latest consoles Microsoft has brought to market, however, on PC the story is different. Already in 1979 those of Redmond launched Microsoft’s Adventure one of the first purely PC game productionsremoving, of course, other platforms such as the Commodore 64, Amiga, MSX, etc.
As for Microsoft’s patent, it is described as a benefit of diffusion cloud-based that interacts in real time with a game and provides instant improvements. First of all, these have to do with the performance of older titles, for example PC titles that don’t run well at all on modern hardware. Microsoft’s system could avoid the use of patches and other unconventional solutions to continue enjoying the great classics. We’ll see how it evolves.
