A fan who unofficially worked on remakes realized his dream and became the technical director for Tomb Raider I-III Remastered.
Timur “XProger” Gagiev worked on unofficial remakes of the Tomb Raider games. But the fan stopped giving updates about his project, which was known as OpenLara, for a long time.
As it turns out, Gagiev was hired as technical director for Tomb Raider I-III Remastered.
He recently shared the achievement in a series of posts on X, where he talked about working on his dream project.
“I am grateful to those responsible at Saber Interactive for entrusting me to lead the project and putting together a dream team of true fans.”
“From the start, we had complete freedom and set ourselves an impossible goal that could only be tackled by a small ‘development team’ of crazy people willing to [ein Jahr lang] to work around the clock, with an absolute vision of what we do and who we do it for.”
“Thanks to the original developers and the community. We have eagerly read all of your comments, interviews, reviews and reactions. The responsibility to all of you was greater than the fear of deadlines and the insane amount of work.”
Tomb Raider I-III Remastered is for 29.99 dollars now available in the Microsoft Store.
