Today, Activision Blizzard announced its second quarter 2023 financial results.
Activision Blizzard released its financial results for the second quarter of the current fiscal year ended June 30, 2023.
Among other things, Activision Blizzard’s GAAP net revenue was $2.21 billion, compared to $1.64 billion for the second quarter of 2022.
GAAP net revenue from digital channels was $2.01 billion.
Activision Blizzard generated $590 million in operating cash flow for the quarter compared to $198 million in the second quarter of 2022.
Commenting on the results, Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick said, “This quarter, our talented teams delivered strong performances for our players and shareholders. We increased net bookings by 50% year over year, increased operating income by over 70%, increased earnings per share by over 80%, and delivered a record quarter for Blizzard with net bookings exceeding $1 billion for the first time. Most importantly, we continue to set new standards for workplace culture excellence, bringing joy and connection to hundreds of millions of gamers around the world. While we remain concerned about the economy and increasing competition in the industry, we are focused on the long-term opportunities ahead and completing our merger with Microsoft.”
For the quarter ended June 30, 2023, Activision Blizzard net bookings were $2.46 billion compared to $1.64 billion for the second quarter of 2022. Net in-game bookings (microtransactions) were 1 $.56 billion ($1.20 billion in same period last year)
For the quarter ended June 30, 2023, total monthly active users (MAUs) across Activision Blizzard’s games was 356 million.
