The title of Double Fine won the Titanium award for best game of the year at the festival’s closing gala.
As every year, since their creation in 2011, the festival Funs and Serius ended with the celebration of a gala, in which they deliver the Premios Titanium. In this year’s ceremony, the leading role was assumed by the title of Double Fine, Psychonauts 2, which won the award for best game of the year. The link between City of Bilbao, where the prizes are awarded and Psychonauts 2 goes deeper than you think. Through Twitter, Tim Schafer, founder of Double Fine, explained that the funicular that appears in the game is inspired by the one in the city of Bilbao.
In addition to the Titanium award for best game of the year, Psychonauts 2 also won the award for best narrative design 2021. Let us remember that the title Double Fine has garnered wonderful reviews and ratings in all media. Phil Spencer himself, “Master Chief” of the Xbox division, has not cut a hair. In a conversation with Major Nelson, he openly stated that Psychonauts 2 was for him, the GOTY (Game of the year) of the year.
