Like every week, we continue to try to start Mondays with strength. That’s why we offer you a small recommendation to continue to enjoy your Xbox Game Pass. Today we want to tell you about a little title as it is Don’t Starve: Giant Edition. Developed by Klei Entertainment, we are going to live a fantastic survival adventure that will play with both our appetites and our minds.
In the shoes of Wilson (or another character), we will travel to a world that seems to have come out of Tim Burton’s mind. In this document we will have to learn how to use all your resources to survive each of your nights and seasons. If you are a survival lover, you cannot miss this fantastic title.
Cartoon but dark art
One of the first things that drew me to Don’t starve it was his fantastic art. And that’s it, it’s one of those aspects that makes the game truly unique. His models and landscapes have a cartoonish tone, but that doesn’t avoid the darkness of the world we find ourselves in.
The obscurity of this alien and hostile world does not remain only in his art. One of the conditions that we must take into account in order to survive is reason. Our sanity will vary depending on the character we control, as each of them will not only have one value or another, but we will also have different ways of recovering it. As mental health declines, our surroundings will become much more terrifying and deadly. Since then, our character will begin to see shadows that will not hesitate to attack us until they finish us.
Likewise, the world of Don’t starve, has many surprises in store for us. One of them is that if we don’t have a bonfire or a light at nightfall, the creatures of the night will destroy us. Likewise, if we try to walk in the dark with only a little light, our sanity will drop.
The hard process of survival
Don’t starve, is one of those survival games where you have to go with a thousand eyes not to end up perishing. From sanity as we mentioned before, to hunger, attacking creatures or the risks of each season. The first step, as you can imagine, is to find food, which in the first few bars is not particularly complicated, although it all depends on the world that the game has generated, as it is completely random.
Once the food is obtained, we will have to craft items that will allow us to adapt to this dangerous environment. Here the game expands your world dramatically. It is very important to highlight the quantity of objects that we can craft, from purely scientific objects to others more typical of magic. Everything feels very well integrated into the game.
Even with the difficulty of the above, we cannot ignore that the game will send us hordes of enemies from time to time, so we will have to be prepared not to end up dying. Likewise, with the change of seasons, we will have to prepare for the dangers that each of them brings. New enemies and changes in the biome, at elemental risks. For example, the cold of winter will force us to play very passively if we are not prepared. Likewise, summer will put our crops at risk, which can burn in the blink of an eye.
A totally recommended game
Don’t starve, is one of those games that we can’t stop recommending. And we’re talking about a virtually endless game that has endless mechanics that will make us enjoy every moment of it. Also, if you like its solo adventure but want to try it out with friends, the game has an add-on that will allow us to play in multiplayer, so that we can still enjoy it more. Without further ado, we hope you like this title and give your fantastic adventure a chance.
