Halo Infinite started its multiplayer journey like a rocket. However, the lack of news lately has taken its toll on users. Fortunately, that will change very soon.
Season 2: Lone Wolves is fast approaching with a handful of new additions that will freshen up the game. 343 business sectors introduced and detailed its new maps, talked about improvements to the Battle Pass and in-game store, and detailed other future adjustments.
Land Grab and King of the Hill
Season 2 will add new, long-requested multiplayer game modes. The three new modes that are coming are L ast Spartan Standing, Land Grab and King of the Hill, a very characteristic Halo mode. King of the Hill will come with a new twist this time. A neutral hill will appear on the map and two teams will compete to capture it. If we are on an uncontested hill, we will earn one point per second for our team, filling a capture bar
In Land Grab, we’ll start with three neutral zones on the map, and if you capture one, you’ll earn a point for your team. The team that reaches 11 points first will be the winner.. This may look very similar to real zoning, but the difference is that in Land Grab when you capture an area it is locked. Unlike area capture, the enemy team cannot take control of a captured area. Therefore, reaching 11 points will be much faster and easier.
Halo’s long-awaited “Battle Royale”
Finally, it’s Last Spartan Standing, which appears to be the new main mode for Season 2. The developer claims that the season’s “Lone Wolves” theme is actually based on this mode. Last Spartan Standing is, in a nutshell, a cross between Battle Royale and Escalation Slayer. It’s a free-for-all mode where up to 12 players compete to be the last one standing on a Big Team Battle map.
Each player will have a “limited” loadout and will be limited to only five respawns. After that, you can only watch the game or leave without incurring a penalty, of course. Players will also be able to carry a more powerful weapon after each kill.
For a more detailed analysis of each of the modes, one can refer to Halo Waypoint. After this good news, we can only wait for its release. It should still be noted that this update will not be the only one. Support studio Certain Affinity is apparently working on a new multiplayer mode that would be a full-scale battle royale experience, a purer battle royale, if you will.. Also, we miss the big Halo 5 War Zone, which gave us so much joy.
From Xbox Area we are delighted with these updates and on May 2 we will have our Spartan ready to continue the battle.
