Halo Infinite came into our lives late last year, garnering mostly good reviews from the gaming community and the media. As you know, the game was supposed to release a year earlier alongside the launch of Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, but Microsoft decided to delay it to finish polishing it.

In a recent interview for the Washington Post, Bonnie Rosshead of 343 Industries, explained the studio’s reasons for delaying the release of Halo Infinite for a year, one of the reasons being that they wanted to deliver a game they would be proud of.

Endless Halo Delay

At the time, everyone seemed to like Microsoft screwing up Halo. The press, the fans, anyone who thought that was the end of Halo. Creating Halo isn’t easy, and being in this big situation was very intimidating. The development team argued that it would not be a game to be proud of.

It was very important for us as a team to bring back Halo for the launch of the new console, to create a unique moment. The postponement was an incredibly painful decision as it would have been a big step for the company to be there at that time. It would have been a good time for Halo to be there, but it wasn’t. It’s the right thing to do for Infinite, and it was the right thing to do for the team.

The team continues to prepare for the launch of the new season and the expected arrival of cooperative play. If you want to know more about Halo Infinite for Xbox, you can read our full analysis via the following link
