That at some point in the development of Halo Infinite a battle royale mode was planned is an indisputable fact. Files have been found in the game that testify to this, and there aren’t a few insiders with a lot of hands at Microsoft who they assure that at least it was on the table.
Whether or not this mode ends up coming in future seasons is another story. Personally, I miss the Warzone mode from Halo 5: Guardians, I wish something like that was improved; I don’t know if a battle royale is what Halo needs. But hey, there are never too many options and Fortnite was good at copying it from PUBG back in the day. Who knows…
A battle royale mode for Halo Infinite multiplayer

Certain Affinity has long been a close partner with Microsoft, working on various Halo titles from Halo 2, to the Master Chief Collection and Halo Infinite. I’ve received a few separate hints that Certain Affinity may also be working on a new game mode for Halo Infinite, which could be a version of the popular Battle Royale formula or something completely different.
Of course, to see this come to fruition, we would have to wait, because if it does come to fruition, it should still be in development.
