Hollow Night: SylkSong delays its release

Team Cherry has announced that it is delaying the release of Sylksong, the sequel to the smash hit Hollow Knight.

Hollow Night: SylkSong it was presented last year at the Xbox Showcase. Like many of the games shown at the event, we were supposed to be faced with titles releasing within the next 12 months. In other words, everything featured in the Showcase would be released before June 2023. Many games were unable to meet the deadline for different reasons. Many of them are Microsoft proprietary studios such as Turn10 with Forza Motorsport or Bethesda with star field. But these development time constraints also affect other third-party studios such as Team Cherry and SylkSong.

And it was through a press release that they shared that the game will delay its launch beyond the scheduled window, the first half of 2023.

The team argues this lag in match size. Apparently Sylksong is much bigger than we might think and they want to take their time to make the best game possible.

We planned to launch [Hollow Knight: Silkskong] first half of 2023, but development is still ongoing. We’re excited about how the game is progressing, and it’s gotten pretty big, so we want to take the time to make the game as good as we want it to be. Stay tuned for more details as we get closer to launch.”
