Hyenas gets an oddly familiar cosplay pro as a new playable character.
Creative Assembly has unveiled Hero-ki, the cosplay specialist who joins the playable crew in chaotic extraction shooter Hyenas… and someone clearly inspired by a certain fast-paced series from SEGA
On Earth, Hero-ki rose to a minor celebrity through cosplay and charity work, but after being evacuated to the Perineum, he was forced to use those same skills for more nefarious causes.
Armed with a specially modified camera that allows him to capture and impersonate a target’s likeness, Hero-ki in Hyenas can use his penchant for cosplay to evade threats and take advantage of the environment. Only the most discerning rival will spot clues that will expose him as a cheater.
A video of Hero-Ki’s performance:
Hero-ki takes his place among the other hyenas, which include specialists like ballerina Prima with the Uzi and astronaut Commander Wright with the foam gun, with more char acters to come.
All PC players are invited to join the pack (#JoinThePack) at playhyenas.com for a chance to participate in the next alpha test, which starts tomorrow at 18:00 (CET).
To give everyone a taste of what to expect, Live Product Director Alex Hunnisett attended the Future Games Show Spring Showcase to present the debut of Hero-ki as well as an exclusive Hyenas gameplay teaser.
Gameplay Teaser:
In tomorrow’s Alpha, players can play as Hero-ki on both playable Plundership maps and rock out on the New York-themed We Took Manhattan and 80’s-inspired Greed is Good. This Alpha will be available for 11 days to give players enough time to settle in and hone their tactics before the doors close again on Tuesday, April 4th at 10:00am (CEST).
Hyenas is a multiplayer, multi-team extraction shooter that pits you as an underdog and anti-hero against other squads and security guards to steal pop culture memorabilia.
