ID@Xbox is an initiative that tried to promote the creation of independent video games within the Xbox ecosystem. A process they have been carrying out now, yes, for 9 years. Taking advantage of this moment of celebration, Chris CharlaDirector General of Content and Program Curation, signs a publication on Xbox Wire sharing the following data:
- Independent developers have earned over $2.5 billion in royalties since the program’s inception.
- The total revenue generated by ID@Xbox Partners on Xbox has nearly doubled over the past three years.
- Over 3,000 games from independent developers have been published through the ID@Xbox program.
- More than 4,600 ID@Xbox developers in 94 countries currently participate in the ID@Xbox program.
- Over 1,000 creators have signed up for the ID@Xbox program over the past two years.
As we can see, the program has greatly encouraged the appearance of independent projects, while making them much more successful. Undoubtedly, an initiative that we hope will continue for many more years.
