Immortal Fenyx Rising Combines the game sensitivity of classic 3D platformer with Ubisoft’s flair for open world design and invites players to jump, slide, climb, ride and fight through seven different regions inspired by different Greek gods. The battle is quick and often out of thin air as you slap gorgons and ghost soldiers into the air, whirling them in swift sword and ax combo, and unleashing divine attacks like the massive hammer conjuration of Hephaestus and the spiky Ares rage blow.
These powers are especially handy when you (often) face gigantic enemies like Cyclopsi and multi-armed Hekatonchires that you can smash with boulders and trees from the surrounding countryside. They are also important in facing the corrupt spirits of Heracles, Odysseus, Atalanta and Achilles who regularly turn up to hunt you down unless you find their burrows and defeat them on their home lawn.
Unless you’re fighting monsters, you don’t have to go very far in any direction to find something that is fun. In addition to the story quests that you will be putting the gods themselves on, you will also find plenty of bite-sized challenges that range from hidden chests to the vaults of Tartarus, a series of ethereal crypts that come with a special (and often deadly) Surroundings are filled with puzzles.
