While life's greatest adventures rarely come with a manual, a little guidance here and there is often welcome. That's why the Wire team has put together some handy, spoiler-free tips, tricks, and hints to get you started on your adventures.
Sights, camera, action
The greatest mysteries and most perplexing mysteries require documentation, and that's true everywhere Indiana Jones and the Great Circlewhere photography is the key to success. Once you arrive at the Vatican, you have the opportunity to purchase a camera, a tool that proves extremely useful in Indy's escapades, not only to advance the story but also to gain experience that offers new advantages and Unlock skills.
Virtual tourism
When you are in an area that contains a historical artifact or landmark, a camera prompt will appear on the screen. Take this as a sign to stop and take in your surroundings, and look for any notable designs, artifacts, or objects that you can take a quick snapshot of. This gives you Adventure Points, which, combined with the various lore books you find or purchase around the world, you can spend on improving your abilities, from melee skills to stamina capacity. These will come in extremely handy if you enjoy being creative with the wide range of melee options.
Help the locals
As you navigate busy streets in several locations, you'll hear the murmurs of NPCs talking about notable landmarks or people they want to have a visual reminder of. Pay attention, because if you take photos of these places and characters and give them back to the characters who mentioned they want that picture, you can earn Adventure Points.
Never be empty-handed
While Indy can and will use just about anything he can get his hands on as a weapon – shovels, dustpans, wooden spoons, fly swatters, hammers – sometimes you're left empty-handed. Not really though! Your trusty revolver doesn't have a silencer, but it does have a quiet mode. If you press A word of warning: he can only hit a fascist a few times before the weapon bends. Luckily, you can fix the problem right away with the repair kits you can find everywhere.
It's OK to walk away (for now)
Indiana Jones and the Great CircleThe levels are full of secrets, puzzles and treasures, and it's definitely worth pursuing all the mysteries, discoveries and field research you come across, both for the rewards they bring and for the fact that they're easy are fun. While players can usually find everything they need to open containers like locked chests within easy reach, intrepid explorers along the way are likely to encounter locked doors, dead ends, or other mechanisms that they simply can't understand at the moment. In such cases, our counterintuitive advice: keep moving.
Often, following the main arc of a story results in new areas becoming accessible, doors opening, etc. Additionally, areas teeming with enemies become much more inviting as Indy collects disguises that allow him to fit in wherever his trademark fedora distinguishes him. Even better, characters will let you know when you should clarify outstanding questions in an area. Until then, you can just go with the flow without worrying about missing out.
Brawn Over Brains
While Indy's (and therefore your) brain is certainly his most powerful weapon, sometimes direct use of force is the best choice. During your travels you may find small wooden padlocked boxes scattered around. Don't bother looking for a key when a hammer will do; If the crosshair turns red, try smashing instead! Likewise, a sledgehammer is not only an effective weapon, it can also tear down a fragile wall – so keep an eye out for crumbling masonry if you encounter one.
