Last December we saw the birth of another new success of the Spanish video game. Aeterna Noctis positioned itself as one of the great bets of the end of the year with a very demanding metroidvania that had a technical and artistic manufacture worthy of mention. Today, we can reveal to you that his studio, Aeternum Game Studios, wants to make it a franchise in its own right, since they have just announced their new title, Summum Aeterna.
We don’t really know many details about it, except for this presentation itself, in which they confirmed that it is a prequel to the first game, with the Dark King himself as a protagonist in its bloodiest and most chaotic period, thus suggesting Summum Aeterna that endless struggle between the two rulers, in another of its eternal phases. We don’t have a trailer yet, but we have some screenshots:
Ultimate Aeterna will be an action-packed Roguelite
Surely in metroidvania structure or at least being a 2D action game, now go for a Roguelite approach, which is also useful for the protagonist, due to his almost eternal fall and rise. Regarding dates or platforms, nothing is confirmed yet, only that the title has been in development for more than a year and a half, a bit unusual behavior in a newly created studio, which trusted in the absolute success of its first product, to go directly to work on the next one.
