It gets stormy on Arakis: New Dune: Awakening trailer shows world exploration
Dune: Awakening, the first open world multiplayer survival game, will be released on Arrakis on May 20. In a new video (below) Funcom presents the size of the desert planet, which is inspired by Frank Herbert's legendary sci-fi novel and Legendary Entertainments award-winning films.
Arrakis is a desert planet, but still surprisingly diverse, as shown in the recently published Beauty of Arrakis video:

The players reveal the resources in their surroundings through their scanner and modules on their vehicles or climb the highest rocks to send out an exploration probe that exposes large parts of the map and shows important places such as shipwrecks or ecological laboratories.
The deep desert, a huge, constantly changing endgame area, attracts the players and at the same time makes them shudder in awe when the sky fills with exploding spice bubbles and the coriolis storms. These fatal storms sweep regularly over the map and change each time, exposing new resources and places and buried the old ones. When the dust has subsided, the players can explore the new country and create cards that they sell to other players.
Exploration is important in Dune: Awakening, but only part of the whole. In the next video, the sandbox combat system will be dealt with in more detail.
