Japanese light cruisers set sail in World of Warships: Legends.
Wargaming, the developer and publisher of leading naval combat MMO World of Warships, sails to new horizons in World of Warships: Legends in its May update. A Tier VIII Pan-Asian destroyer awaits at the end of the new four-week, 80-milestone Eastern Horizons campaign. This update also includes a Roman Empire-themed event with ships, camouflages and a new captain’s outfit, Japanese light cruisers in the tech tree and a new free office project to explore.
The return of the Roman Empire and the new ship Venezia in the office
The new event brings the ships of the 20th century into the age of antiquity and offers players an epic journey into the Roman Empire. The theme of the event is based on the massive empire and offers matching rewards for players to unlock.
Through missions, players can obtain a special event currency called Denarii, which can be exchanged for themed goods, camouflages, a gladiator commander outfit, and the Italian battleship Centurion. Players will also have access to a new Tier VI Italian cruiser, Francesco Ferruccio, which players can receive in random packs.
The legendary Italian heavy cruiser Venezia also anchors at the Research Office. The Venezia features 15 eight-inch caliber guns, high speed and strong armor, making her a maneuverable addition to any Italian fleet.
The Eastern Horizons campaign rewards Tier VIII Lüshun
The start of the legendary May update is the brand new “Eastern Horizons” campaign. This lasts four weeks, includes 80 milestones and rewards players with Admiralty support with the pan-Asian Tier VIII destroyer Lüshun. With an impressive main battery reload speed and rotating turrets, the ship can unleash a significant amount of firepower.
In addition, the Lüshun is armed with deep-sea torpedoes, which are significantly more difficult to detect than normal torpedoes. The campaign features a catch-up mechanic to give players a better chance of receiving the rewards.
Japanese Light Cruisers are now available in the Tech Tree
The new line of Tier IV-VIII Japanese light cruisers that have left Early Access are now fully available in the Tech Tree. Leading this series is the powerful Tier VIII Takahashi, now available alongside a special permanent camouflage that players can obtain by completing a special mission. With fast-firing guns and turning torpedoes, these dynamic light cruisers are perfect for experimental combat strategies.
Completing the May Update are two new Ranked Battles seasons and two Keilerein seasons, each with their own unique rules. Seasons 54 and 55 of Ranked Battles feature fast-paced, five-on-five battles, using Tier VI ships in one season and Tier VII ships in the other. Season 17 of Brawls requires a Tier VII battleship with a disabled main battery, and Season 18 will see Tier VI cruisers’ core stats upgraded.
This update also brings a number of bug fixes and improvements across the game. The full patch notes are available here.
