Came out at the end of October 2020 Ghost runner, a particularly challenging dice & retry in a futuristic and post-apocalyptic world. We played exactly one ghostrunner there, a kind of super soldier who lost his memory after a fight that went wrong. As I don’t particularly like the cyberpunk vibe, I have to admit that I really wowed and loved it, especially thanks to its high quality OST. So yeah, I’ll admit that I have a huge synthwave period at the moment, so I’m definitely going with it Ghost runner
And it has to be said that the title puts the player right in the mood with its introductory cinematic. We can see our hero roaming the area, eliminating his enemies with a simple blow on the blade. Then we can see him fight Mara, the number one enemy of the game, who, however, has the upper hand over him and ultimately puts him in an awkward position. I’ll add the full OST to you a little further down in the article as the song is unfortunately cut a bit in the cutscene.
What about the music on the menu? Quiet and mysterious, I am not going to hide from you for leaving it in the background for guilty pleasure while waiting to find walkthroughs and others to advance in the game. It’s usually the kind of atmosphere that strikes me as wonderful.
But if there is a song that won me over, I would have a great time Ghost runner, that’s the title intruder. This is the one who will introduce you to the game, its well-oiled and sophisticated mechanics, and give you your first impressions of power. Even so, it will also remind you that the smallest mistake can be fatal. This is also the theme found in boss fights to add a bit of adrenaline to the action.
In short, if you are a synthwave lover and the evocation of artists like Carpenter Brut or Perturbator inspires you with some joy, then check out the OST of Ghost runner. The electro sounds harmonize perfectly with the atmosphere of the game and immediately give you the feeling of being inextricably linked. And if you are not frightened by throwing the dice and repeating, I can only strongly advise you to sharpen your blade and immerse yourself in this dystopian universe.
