Management games always give us the opportunity to own the “x” theme park, a video game company, and pretty much anything else you can imagine. However, who has never wanted to have their own dinosaur park? It was the proposal of Frontier Developments, which gave several turns to the traditional formula to bring us a game full of new options and exploiting the genre to the maximum.
Four years after bringing us Jurassic World Evolution, they presented us with their second opus, which improved the first in all its aspects with more space to build, new dinosaurs and more realistic mechanics for our immersion. We analyzed it at the time and it seemed to be a success, like most media; however, sales according to the company were below expectations.
Jurassic World Evolution 2 sales continue to rise
A few hours ago, a new statement was released by the studio, which was addressed intermediate results of the company. In these documents we can see that thanks to games like Jurassic World Evolution 2, their income had increased considerably. We also know that the game is selling a lot more now than when it was released, a title that came out just in time and in good shape despite the current adversities.
We’ve had an unprecedented two years due to the coronavirus and the resulting changes, both positive and negative. We’ve seen an increase in sales and changes in shopping habits, an accelerating shift to interactive entertainment and digital shopping, and shifts in production that include working from home. Although the challenges of the coronavirus remain, we believe that we now have solid production processes that work in the new hybrid world, as evidenced by the fast and high quality delivery of the excellent Jurassic World Evolution 2, and that prepares us to future success.
Additionally, Frontier has anticipated several of its projects in development, such as a management title and a real-time strategy title.
Our team has done a fantastic job adapting to all these challenges and finding new ways of working. We have the potential for much greater growth in the years to come as we reap the rewards of all the hard work we have put into adapting to these changes; and capitalize on a large portfolio of existing games alongside exciting new franchises such as Formula 1 management games and our real-time strategy game Warhammer Age of Sigmar. We are well prepared with an excellent portfolio for an exciting future.
