The Middle Ages is not a pony farm: Hardcore mode for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II has arrived.
At the frequent request of the community there is now an optional hardcore mode for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. This ensures that the position of the players is no longer permanently displayed on the map and that there is neither compass nor quick travel function.
In addition, at the beginning of the game you have to choose at least three permanent negative properties such as “back problems”, which means that you can wear less weight. Or “sleepwalkers”, which means that you wake up in random places the next morning or you become a “hungry Heinrich” and are still more obsessed with food.
The hardcore mode was already in the first part of the game and it was further developed for the sequel to make Kingdom Come: Deliverance II even more inevitable.
Karel Kolmann, Senior Game Designer at Warhorse Studios, explains that the hardcore mode was almost done in the first game but not only wanted to create a simple copy.
“We only retained a few of the perks of the first game and then created new ones to create a brand new challenge. It's not just about making the game more difficult, but also about making it more immersive. In the hardcore mode of the first game, for example, we deactivated the position of the player on the map and removed the compass, but this time we went even more. To ask about your own location in the world what makes the game more inevitable.
In addition, the DLC “Equipment of the Brave Hunter” is available both as part of the Gold Edition and separately. Numerous items of clothing and a weapon await courageous hunters here and enable a particularly stylish look in the dark forest.
