Koa and the Five Pirates, a charming 3D platformer, has been announced for Xbox.
Indie publisher Chibig (Summer in Mara) has revealed another previously unseen game as part of its Chibig Presents reveal. Koa and the Five Pirates is a 3D platformer set in the sun-kissed world of Summer in Mara and is the latest installment in the ever-growing Chibig universe.
In the game you embark with Koa, the star of the series, and her best friend Napopo on an action-packed adventure across the islands of Mara. Outsmart traps, maneuver through dangerous environments and explore a variety of bewilderingly different landscapes in your hunt for stolen pirate treasure.
Marauding pirates have stolen the islanders’ treasure, and now it’s your job to get it back. In a loving tribute to the 3D Jum’n’Run games of yesteryear, you’ll traverse wild islands, dodge cunning traps and defeat the grumpiest of pirate captains.
Unlocks an archipelago bit by bit. From sandy beaches to bubbling volcanoes, there’s no shortage of enchanting, colorful islands to visit, each one brimming with secrets and collectibles. Koa and the Five Pirates is a privateer adventure for everyone from newbies to speedrunners.

The developers reported, “Coming back to Mara with a very different kind of game presents an interesting challenge,” said Abraham Riera, Chibig CEO. ‘But I think the team hit the mark. Koa and the Five Pirates manages to look fresh and familiar at the same time. That is no small feat!”
Koa and the Five Pirates will be available on Xbox One, Switch, PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam throughout 2022.
