Game Director Michael Gamble plays playful teaser for speculation about Lens Flare comeback. Unreal Engine 5 continues to use and the development is slowly progressing.
Although the next Mass Effect is still in an early stage of development, a winking comment from Game Director Michael Gamble is currently causing a conversation in the community.
For a social media post that jokingly demanded that the new game should contain “please again excessive Lens Flare”-like the original trilogy-Gamble only replied with an approving emoji.
This playful reaction is not an official confirmation, but it shows that the project is located in a stable phase and also leaves room for such creative details.
Despite these small updates, the game is still not in full production according to the earlier statements by ex-producer Mark Darrah. At the beginning of the year, Bioware invested most of its capacities in the completion and aftercare of Dragon Age: The Veilguard. As a one-project studio, Bioware is currently not working in parallel on several large titles, which slows down the development progress of the next Mass Effect.
However, it is known that the game is being built on the Unreal Engine 5-a conscious step away from the in-house frostbite engine, with the bioware at Anthem and Mass Effect: Andromeda has repeatedly difficulties.
The new team consists of several veterans of the original trilogy, including Michael Gamble, Preston Watananiuk, Derek Watts and Parrish Ley. Studio manager Gary McKay recently emphasized in a blog post that it is currently also presenting processes internally to make future projects more sustainable and creative.
An official title or a publication date is still pending. The only thing that is certain is that the next Mass Effect part for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | s will be released-one day, 2029 at the earliest?
