Smilegate’s MMORPG has landed in the West thanks to the collaboration of Amazon Games, those responsible for localizing the game in different languages and adapting the game to our tastes with subtle adjustments. Its launch was a complete success, so much so that it became the second most popular game in Steam history.
However, all this has been marred by long queues which in recent days have become more bearable with the opening of new regions; there are still big connectivity issues and thousands of illegitimate accounts, mostly with bots.
Lost Ark won’t stop fighting the bots
After announcing a massive ban on over a million accountssmile holder it’s pronounced to solve the problem of hundreds of bots flooding your game, and the studio will not get tired of fighting them and will implement new measures.
Last Friday, we started rolling out bot bans, targeting over a million illegitimate accounts. We know this won’t solve the situation on its own and there are still bots present in the game, so we want to make sure this was just one step in an ongoing battle.
After this first wave of massive bans, we continue to implement additional bans on a regular basis to remove more bots from the game. Beyond that, we are also working on internal methods and tools to make it much more difficult for bots to enter the game, especially at the current rate of creation. These updates will be on their way to the game soon.
