New modifications have now been introduced to Lords of the Fallen with the Master of Fate update.
CI Games today released version 1.5 – “Master of Fate”, a free update for all owners of the dark fantasy action RPG Lords of the Fallen.
Master of Fate is the culmination of over 30 updates since launch, which have resulted in significant performance, stability and optimization improvements, as well as rigorous difficulty adjustments in response to player feedback.
The update, available for PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, also delivers the final milestone in the game’s extensive post-launch roadmap: the Advanced Game Modifier System.
Saul Gascon, Head of Studio at HEXWORKS, talks about version 1.5 and more in the developer video:
Master of Fate concludes a weekly cadence of new content and quality of life improvements for Lords of the Fallen that significantly enhance the gaming experience, including:
- Significant improvements in performance, optimization and stability
- Tight difficulty balancing, including reducing mob density and mitigating ranged attacks
- Split PvP and PvE game balancing
- Online multiplayer improvements for improved matchmaking and connection stability
- New quest lines including Season of the Bleak, Trial of the Three Spirits and Way of the Bucket
- New armor and weapon sets
- Additional secret boss weapon abilities
- Improved boss fights with additional movesets and new AI
- 12 new spells, including the devastating arena spell Doom
- New Painful Blows: Each weapon family now has two unique finishers: one for one-handed weapons and one for two-handed weapons
- Three new projectiles: blood vomit, explosive mines and frost worms
- QOL updates including: inventory expansion, appearance reset, save functionality and gamepad rebinding
The latest feature – the Advanced Game Modifier System – puts the power directly into players’ hands, allowing them to fully customize their gaming experience by using any combination of seven modifiers to make the game easier, more difficult, or just every time to have a completely new experience.
Modifiers include the ability to randomly place enemies, change mob density, and even enable a form of permadeath.
Saul Gascon, Executive Producer and Head of Studio, HEXWORKS, said: “We would like to thank the many players who have joined Mournstead since its launch six months ago; Their belief in our vision was a real driving force for us.”
“In response to their support for the game, we have extended the live support period for Lords of the Fallen with an ambitious post-launch roadmap. This consisted of four significant content updates as well as numerous smaller releases that included tons of new content as well as important performance and stability improvements.”
“Reaching version 1.5 with the Master of Fate update and its truly groundbreaking modifier system marks the completion of this roadmap and makes Lords of the Fallen the best experience yet.”
