Microsoft approves unionization of more than 600 Activision workers

In the midst of a cataract of layoffs in several companies in the sector, hundreds of employees in the quality assurance sector of Activision has decided to join the union of Communications Workers of America (CWA) in the United States. The total number of employees making this decision would reach 600 divided into three different locations, Austin, Texas, Eden Prairie, Minnesota, and El Segundo, California. The union, renamed Activision Quality Assurance United, thus became the largest in the video game industry in the United States.

According to internal sources, the decision in favor of unionization was overwhelming and had only eight negative votes, which demonstrates the power that the proposal had for workers in the sector.

Power in the hands of the workers, or something like that

union members works on titles under the Activision Publishing umbrella just like franchises like Call of Duty, Crash Bandicoot, and even Tony Hawk Pro Skater. This initiative joins that of other groups within Microsoft and Activision Blizzard such as Blizzard Albany, Raven Software and ZeniMax.
