Infinity Ward is said to be planning remasters of maps from previous installments in the series, coming in 2023 for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (2022).
Publisher Activision had already informed about this year’s plans for the Call of Duty franchise in February.
Players can therefore look forward to a sequel to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019). And a successor to Warzone is also in development and should be released this year.
As insider RalphsValve reports, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (2022) content will stretch into 2023. In view of the possible publication towards the end of the year, that was already clear. But Infinity Ward is said to be planning more reissues of well-known cards from old parts to keep fans engaged.
Maps from Call of Duty 4, Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3 are to be prepared and published.
Because, in 2023 there could be a break where no new Call of Duty part appears for the first time. This is not officially confirmed. But if that’s true, it makes sense that Infinity Ward is planning more content to fill a gap for 2023.
