SEGA hints that there will be more Sonic the Hedgehog news in 2023.
SEGA sees 2022 as one of the biggest milestones in Sonic the Hedgehog history. No wonder, because with two games (Sonic Origins and Sonic Frontiers), a movie, a Netflix series and other fan articles, Sonic the Hedgehog was a topic everywhere.
In a conversation with the Famitsu Magazine Studio head Takashi Iizuka said that Sonic fans can expect Sonic to be present in 2023 and continue to capitalize on the momentum.
“Last year was the biggest year in Sonic history, starting with the movie sequel, followed by the release of new games Sonic Origins and Sonic Frontiers, and Netflix animation Sonic Prime,” said Takashi Iizuka.
“This year we are preparing a second wave that will delight the fans and keep the momentum. We’ve already announced the distribution of additional content for Sonic Frontiers, but there’s a lot more to come so stay tuned.”
So SEGA is not only planning new story and free content for Sonic Frontiers in 2023, but will also prepare more surprises for all Sonic the Hedgehog fans. Apparently, this includes new LEGO sets that are already online popped up
