Update 1.1 for Arma Reforger adds guerrilla fighters, AI improvements and a new PvE mode to the game.
The developers at Bohemia Interactive are proud to announce Update 1.1 for Arma Reforger. This update introduces new playable content, weapons, assets and a number of exciting improvements.
In 1.1, players can now play as a guerrilla resistance faction and work together to liberate the island of Everon from Soviet occupiers in a brand new PvE scenario called Combat Ops: Everon.
This update is another step towards completing the Arma Reforger roadmap and brings a variety of expansions to the game.
New game mode
Update 1.1 introduces Combat Ops: Everon, a dynamic PvE scenario. In this game mode, players join the Resistance Faction (FIA) and complete various objectives to liberate the island of Everon from its Soviet occupiers.
While Arma Reforger has previously focused primarily on PvP gameplay, players can now compete against the newly improved AI in a dynamic scenario that offers different objectives and spawn points each round.
In keeping with Bohemia Interactive’s core philosophy, the game mode is open and replayable, resulting in hours of varied gameplay across the sprawling island.
The scenario can be played solo, but is best suited as a cooperative experience for up to 6 players.
New weapons and equipment
Arma Reforger consists of three factions, the US, the Soviets and the FIA, and all three have received significant weapon upgrades.
From the brand new US M16a2 carbine and new optics for the US and Soviet factions to the FIA’s UK-59L machine gun, the NSV turret and the armed UAZ – 1.1 brings a welcome weapon expansion for all factions.
Both the FIA and Soviet factions now have new equipment, including a range of civilian clothing, new Soviet camouflage, an FIA radio and more.
These additions aim to increase the immersion of the Arma Reforger experience and, in the case of the new camouflage, to help Soviet faction players better hide in the game’s rustic terrains.
Lighting, AI and gameplay improvements
Version 1.1 also includes a variety of fixes, optimizations and gameplay improvements. Changes to the clouds and lighting make the game environments more realistic and showcase the power of Bohemia Interactive’s Enfusion Engine.
The AI enemies (and teammates) are now even more fearsome on the battlefield, as they are now able to take cover from fire and use smoke grenades when healing downed teammates.
These changes are immediately noticeable in the game, and many players report that battles against AI are more similar to battles against human players than ever before.
In addition, the developers have revised and optimized the Conflict game mode to enable fair, entertaining and exciting PvP battles.
