From expanding quests to PC Game Pass, to redesigning the Game Pass quests that earn you points, to weekly rewards for all There are many new ways for Xbox players aged 18 and over to earn points while playing.
Last but not least, today we're sharing an important update to earning rewards with Xbox. This update aligns with our continued commitment to promoting positive, age-appropriate gaming experiences by making points earned through gaming activities available only to players 18 years of age and older.
Game Pass quests arrive on your PC
Previously exclusive to Game Pass Ultimate members, Quests open up opportunities to earn even more rewards with Xbox. Starting January 7th, quests will also be available to PC Game Pass members all regions where Rewards with Xbox is available. Now you have even more ways to earn rewards points on PC, in addition to console and mobile. The new Game Pass Quests are also launching in Japan, bringing the full Rewards and Xbox experience to the region.
If you're an active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass member 18 or older, it's easy to start collecting:
- Discover the new quests by navigating to your Xbox profile and accessing the Rewards Hub, available on console, the Xbox app on mobile, and the Xbox app on Windows PC.
- Earn points by playing your favorite games with Game Pass.
- Claim your points in the Rewards Hub.
Once you've collected enough, you can redeem your points for Xbox Gift Cards that you can use for games, in-game content, donations to your favorite causes, and more.
As part of these changes, a minimum play time is required to earn points through gameplay. Currently, quests are only available for titles in the Game Pass catalog. PC games that require third-party launchers or that are played on Battle.net are excluded. For more information, visit Xbox.com/Rewards.

New Game Pass quests available
We've redesigned Game Pass Quests to be easier to use and more fun to play – we've made it possible to earn even more points just by playing games you love and discovering your next favorite games. Quests offer daily, weekly and monthly opportunities to expand your rewards, and we've also brought back a player favorite: weekly streaks.
Here's how Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members can earn points now (and remember, reward offers vary by region and may change over time. Check the terms and conditions Here):
- Daily play – Earn 10 points per day by playing any game from the Game Pass catalog for at least 15 minutes.
- Weekly Streaks – Play at least five days per week to complete your streak. The more days you play, the more points you earn. Now comes the challenge: keep your streak going week after week to unlock bigger score multipliers. For a 2-week streak you get 2x the base streak points, for a 3-week streak you get 3x the base streak points, and for anything beyond a 4-week streak you get 4x the base streak points.
- Monthly 4-pack – Explore the Game Pass catalog by playing four different games (each for at least 15 minutes) each month.
- Monthly 8-pack – Take your gaming even further and play eight different games (each for at least 15 minutes) every calendar month. Don't worry, the 4 games from your 4-pack also count towards the 8-pack.
New ways to earn rewards for everyone
In addition to changes to exclusive quests for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members, we're also offering all players new ways to earn points. Starting January 7, 2025, all Rewards members aged 18 and over will have access to the new weekly PC bonus, which will earn them 150 points when they play for 5 days or more (at least 15 minutes).
With this update we are also rebalancing the current weekly console bonus points to 150 points and the daily PC game bonus points to 10 points.
Update to play and earn
We continually evaluate the Xbox platform to ensure our ongoing commitment to fostering positive, age-appropriate gaming experiences for our players. Starting today, earning Rewards Points through gameplay is only available to Xbox players aged 18 and over. With these changes, the Rewards Hub, used to track and earn points on Xbox console, Xbox app for Windows PC, and Xbox mobile app, will no longer be available to players under 18.
This update does not affect existing rewards and points previously earned by players, and going forward, players under 18 will continue to be able to earn Microsoft Rewards points through parent-approved purchases of eligible items in the Microsoft Store, eligible searches on Microsoft Bing, and other non-gameplay activities such as completing the Microsoft Rewards Daily Set. You can continue to track and redeem your available Microsoft Rewards at Rewards.Microsoft.com.
We can't wait to see all the great rewards you can redeem just by playing on Xbox. You're already playing, so start earning now!
