Nintendo and The Pokémon Company are suing Pocketpair, the developers of Palworld.
Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have filed a lawsuit against Pocketpair, the makers of Palworld, in the Tokyo District Court.
The intention is to take action against the infringement of patent rights and to demand compensation for damages. The reason for the lawsuit is that Palworld is said to be infringing several patent rights.
“Nintendo will continue to fight against any infringement of its intellectual property rights, including the Nintendo brand itself, to protect the intellectual property it has worked hard to build over the years,” it said in a statement.
The lawsuit filed today suggests that Nintendo and The Pokémon Company’s lawsuit relates to the “inventions of the game” and not to “similarities between character designs.”
