Survival in the wild of Open country requires planning, patience, and all of your bushcraft skills! Build camps, hunt and fish for food, store supplies, treat wounds, make tools, cure diseases, and more. Keep your health and supplies under control and every morning you will be ready to keep exploring, building new camps, and hone your skills on the way to becoming an outdoor master.
hunt
Hunting is vital in Open country. You need to move around calmly and have a firm goal if you want to eat more than berries and mushrooms for dinner. Small game is plentiful on the menu and a good source of meat. Big game can be found by following the tracks to their feeding grounds. Large game will be frightened and quickly run away if it sees, hears or smells you. For a successful hunt, you need to keep an eye on the wind direction and keep the noise level low.
Waterfowl more your speed? Take a shotgun and aim at the birds that have gathered on a nearby pond.
Hunting dog
Your newest best friend in Open country is a trained hunting dog! Your dog can find game, track tracks and even retrieve small game and waterfowl that you have shot. While you take care of him through feeding and well-deserved pets, he will improve his skills and be available to you more often.

Hop on a boat and cruise across the water to find the best spot to fish! Choose your bait and prepare for the fish to take a bite. Bring in your catch but make sure you don’t break the line and let a big one get away with it.

Open country contains three unique maps, each representing a different season of the year; Summer, autumn and winter. Each map features different animals and unique hazards. Explore each map to find the best places to hunt, build camps to store food, and find the best views for screenshots, but be careful of predators. Animals like wolves and bears don’t like visitors, so always be aware of your surroundings.

The cards are great. Very large. Getting around can take a while unless you get on an ATV, boat, or snowmobile. These vehicles are loud. So if you’re on your way to a hunt, stop early and hike the rest of the way or you’ll scare away all the game!
