Aaron Keller the current game director, reveals that Monitor 2 it will completely replace its predecessor at launch.
Since Monitor 2 was first announced Blizzard Entertainment billed it as a rather unconventional sequel, as it’s designed more as an expansion of the first game than a clean break like most sequels tend to be.
It turns out that after the free launch of Monitor 2 in October, the Surveillance the original will be completely replaced, to the point that it can no longer be played. Responding to a question on Reddit “AMA”, the game director, Aaron Kellersaid that when the next sequel comes out later this year, “it will replace the current Live service“.
Previously, it was said that Surveillance there Monitor 2 it would be a shared multiplayer experience, but at this point it looks like the original is being retired in favor of the sequel. Blizzard previously confirmed that progress and skins will continue (although loot boxes will not, with revamped monetization), so that’s about it.
Monitor 2 will launch as a free early access title for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on October 4. After launch, expect to receive many major content releases including new multiplayer heroes, full campaign, and more..
