Bandai Namco and developer Limbic surprise us this time with Park Beyond, a wild and fun amusement park simulator
To be honest, the simulation genre isn’t one of my favorites. I usually don’t have the patience and hours to enjoy this type of game. I get frustrated quickly when something doesn’t work for me or messy menus in these games. But recently, thanks to Game Pass, I ventured to try SEGA’s Two Point saga and loved it. Thanks to this, I was encouraged to analyze this Park Beyond, and the truth is that it was a good decision. If you want to know everything about the game Limbic and Bandai Namco, stay with us in this analysis.

Imagine being…a roller coaster architect
Park Beyond is an amusement park simulator where we can build the park of our dreams and become a real roller coaster architect. The game has two game modes, campaign mode and another called mixed bag.. In the first it will work as a complete tutorial, where through different missions we can learn all the mechanics of the title, in addition to having a great story. The second mode is a kind of free mode where we can create the park of our dreams without any limitations, capturing everything we learned during the campaign mode. In this story mode we will be a young man who, thanks to his passion for amusement parks, is hired by the company Cloudmasters, who is not going through his best moment, so we will be responsible for bringing him back to glory.

Fun for adults, teens and families
At first, Park Beyond seems like a fairly simple title in terms of its looks and the first few missions where you can’t do much, but that changes quickly. The title is very deep, and we can do a thousand and one things to create the park of our dreams. One thing that I really liked is that you They give many aesthetic possibilities to make our park a beautiful place, but that will not be enough for it to succeed, since the economic aspect comes into play.. It is useless to have the best attractions if their prices are very high. There’s also no point in having a thousand catering joints if we don’t have hired cleaning staff, which makes the place dirty and no one comes to the park. As we can see, in addition to macro management, we can make small decisions that significantly affect the performance of our park.
Another aspect that I also found successful is that we can choose the theme of our park and what type of people it is aimed at. For example, We can gear our park towards families, so very intense and dangerous attractions will not work, as families are looking for something quieter and more relaxed to enjoy with the children. The same goes for the food and drink stalls, teenagers will love that there are stalls such as burgers. As I said before, the theme of the park is also important. There is a wide variety of themes, from outer space to the old west, which is also key to success.

feel the adrenaline
A very important mechanic of Park Beyond is the creation of roller coasters. We can create anything that comes to mind. Of those with vertiginous falls, with cannons that are thrown at us in defiance of all physics and even certain underground. In this aspect, the game is very surreal but quite fun. Before building the attraction, it must be checked that it is safe and that the cars do not derail, modify it at will and make the necessary changes if it does not comply with the necessary safety. Once built, one can test the attraction in the first person, this one being quite spectacular and releasing adrenaline.
The title controls, despite being a management title, are more than decent on console, though of course not as intuitive as they can be on PC. Despite this, I noticed that even though the controls are well implemented in the consolethese aren’t explained properly in the tutorials, asking you to do something but not explaining how to do it, having to navigate through the many menus until you find what you’re being asked to do.

Parks full of light and color
The graphics section of Park Beyond is quite good. In Series X, he has a very colorful appearance, with elements and characters that look like they were taken from a cartoon series. Being a management game, the graphic and artistic section is perfectly consistent, because everything is very beautiful. The game also has a day-night cycle, generating images at night, thanks to the spectacular lighting, very beautiful. It is true that if we approach the elements of the decorations, the textures may lack detail, but it is not a big problem. Performance-wise, I’ve seen frame drops in cutscenes, especially early on, to the point where the frame freezes completely.
As for the sound, it is also consistent. It is appreciated that all the voices are dubbed in Spanish and with exceptional dubbing. Sound effects and ambient sounds also work fine. Each attraction has a melody that we can choose manually. The level of title customization is amazing. The soundtrack of the game is quite nice and catchy.

conclusions
Park Beyond is a very good management game. It’s true that he doesn’t revolutionize the genre, but everything he offers does it really well. It seems like a very simple game due to its aesthetics but Park Beyond is really deep, much to the delight of simulator enthusiasts. Limbic and Bandai Namco have done a great job and we hope they will surprise us again in the future with new work. A title fully recommended both for regulars of the genre and for those who are new to this field..
