The first two parts of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic are said to be re-released later this year.
The original Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and its sequel, Knights of the Old Republic II, are said to be reissued later this year.
At least that’s what the well-known Star Wars insider Jordan Maison writes on Twitter. According to him, who also commented on EA Motives Project Maverick (later heralded as Star Wars: Squadrons), he has heard of signs that both the original KotOR and its sequel are being re-released in the same vein as the Star Wars: Episode 1 Racer and Jedi Knight titles will be received on consoles. This would suggest that the re-releases of Knights of the Old Republic and Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords will merely be upscaled ports of the original games.
“Heard some fun game stuff this week. Nothing big and no real details (hence a tweet and not a post). Do you know how the Jedi Knight Games and Episode 1 Racer Switch / Modern Console got re-releases? I’ve heard that #KOTOR 1 and 2 will get the same thing sometime this year. “
“Mind you, this would be SEPARATE from the upcoming remake thingy (which would incorporate elements to include in the canon). That would only be direct, upscaled ports. “
