Payday 3 developer Starbreeze has acquired the rights to publish the Plaion game.
Often the rights of video games are among the publishers who finance the whole thing, and not with the developer. This was also the case in the case of Payday 3.
But developer Starbreeze is now acquiring the rights to the current third part of the Heist series, as was announced.
Plaion releases the complete license for publication on Starbreez for $ 3.4 million.
In a statement it says: “This agreement enables Starbreeze to acquire the publishing rights to Payday 3 completely from Plaion, to clearly accelerate our content development roadmap and to pursue more broader strategic opportunities for the Payday franchise as a whole.”
“We appreciate the support of Plaion, which underlines their trust in the future of Starbreeze and strengthens our strategic orientation with important global industry actors.”
Even if the current publishing agreement ends, there will also be future partnerships between the two companies for the Payday franchise.
“While this agreement marks the end of the current publishing agreement, it also laid the foundation for a long-term partnership between Starbreeze and Plaion for future Payday franchise projects.”
