SONY has killed two live service games for PlayStation that were in development.
SONY has applied the red pencil to two of its PlayStation studios. Two projects at Blue Point Games and Bend Studio were canceled.
The first own game was released at Blue Point Games. The studio, which has been part of SONY since 2021, had previously worked on remakes of Shadow of the Colossus and Demon's Souls. Supposedly the first original game was a God of War live service game.
Bend Studio is also working on a live service game. The developer known for Days Gone (2019) seems to be unlucky. A successor to Days Gone and a game in the Uncharted series have already been canceled in recent years. Now it has also hit an open world live-serve game that has been in development for several years.
A spokesperson for Sony Interactive Entertainment told Bloombergthat there are no plans to close the studios and that further projects are being pursued.
“Bend and Bluepoint are highly skilled teams that are valued members of the PlayStation Studios family, and we are working closely with both studios to determine next projects.
In an internal memo, SONY said it is “working closely with Bend and Bluepoint to determine what projects are next and that we will do everything we can to ensure there is minimal impact on the project.” There is business.”
