Director John Carpenter thinks someone else is already working on a Dead Space movie.
In October last year, John Carpenter was interviewed by AV club asked if he would ever film a game.
He replied, “The only game I can think of, and I’ve mentioned it before, is Dead Space!”
According to a new interview with diversity However, Carpenter has never been approached for such a Dead Space film project and therefore assumes that another director is already being planned for it.
“I’m a huge video game fan, so I’ve played a lot of games. I was looking at the new digital cameras, the RED, and happened to mention that I’d love to do a Dead Space movie. Word got around and everyone was like, ‘Oh, when are you going to do the film?’ I won’t do it. I think they’ve already hired another director. And they didn’t ask me if I wanted to do it. So as long as nobody asks me, I won’t do it either,” says the interviewer.
So it remains to be seen whether John Carpenter will still be asked to direct the role or whether a new Dead Space movie is actually in the works.
