Blizzard has now revealed many new details about Diablo IV’s post-launch content, such as the Battle Pass.
In a live stream, fans have now been provided with further information about Diablo IV. Blizzard Entertainment spoke to viewers about the post-launch content for the action RPG, which is due out in just a few weeks.
The developer plans to release a new season every quarter. Players can then expect new gameplay features and quest lines, but also balance adjustments and game improvements.
The start of Season 1 in Diablo IV is currently planned for mid to late July. In order to be able to play them, the campaign must have been completed.
A help was also introduced with “Season Journey”, which will inform you about new content in the game and tell you how to level up the Battle Pass. To do this, stages must be completed, behind which various goals are hidden. Completing a stage earns players seasonal rewards, including crafting materials or legendary aspects for the Codex of Power.
Completing objectives also earns players Favor, a resource used to level up in the Battle Pass. You get them by completing quests, killing monsters, or participating in events.
The Battle Pass will include 27 free and 63 premium tiers. Accessories and Smoldering Ashes are unlocked on the free track. The ashes can be used to get bonus experience points, gold or oboluses.
As Blizzard notes about the premium tier of the Battle Pass, the rewards will not make the player stronger, but rather unlock exclusive season rewards as well as platinum. The platinum can be used for shopping in the shop.
The premium battle pass for Diablo IV will cost 1000 platinum or 9.99 dollars. There is also an accelerated Battle Pass for 2800 platinum (24.99 dollars). It directly unlocks 20 tiers in the Premium Pass and also includes the Wings of the Creator emote.
Finally, players who want to give their character or their class a personal touch will find what they are looking for in the shop. According to Blizzard, there will already be “hundreds of transmogrifications, weapons and armor pieces, including dozens of armor sets” at launch. Further options for personalization, which will be of a purely visual nature and will not grant any game advantage, can then be had in the shop for real money.
They promise to provide content for the shop that underlines class-specific aspects and is purely for self-expression.
If you buy an accessory for a class, it is unlocked for the account and can also be used on other characters of the same class.
Cross-platform purchases are also possible, so the content and platinum can be accessed from any platform as long as the Battle.net account is linked.
Here are two examples of legendary armor earned in-game and the armor accessories from the shop.
