The Power Surge update for the Rust Console Edition introduces electricity to the survival game.
A massive new update has been rolled out for the Xbox version of Rust. The Power Surge update introduces the new Power Plant monument and expands your base building skills with state-of-the-art components.
The highlight of the update is the introduction of electricity, allowing you to power up defenses to secure your base.
Developer Double Eleven writes: “Using circuitry, multiple electrical components can be connected together, opening up a multitude of opportunities to enhance the functionality of the base. you can e.g. B. Install a simple heartbeat sensor outside of your base that connects to an alarm system to set off an alert whenever someone tries to camp you, or you can do something much more complex and create a trap base! This base can be fully automated, so don’t forget to check it every now and then to collect the loot of those unlucky enough to fall into your trap.”
In the future, when planning for a base, players must consider an energy source, such as solar panels, wind turbines, or small generators with low fuel consumption.
Keeping an eye on the number of items that require power also needs to be kept. Especially at night when solar panels don’t generate electricity.
The power plant monument also offers a lot of power. Players can snag valuable loot or even snag a red key card with appropriate protective gear. Secured but hackable crates also promise worthwhile loot and will be dropped there as well.
The Power Surge update comes with a complete wipe, including the blueprints, so old and new players are on an equal footing.
